Andrew meets Bob the Builder

One of the perks of my job is that Andrew is allowed to attend our school field trips. This month, our students went to the Discovery Science Center. Knowing that there was so much STUFF to do here, I knew that Andrew would be super entertained. And indeed he was! The entire 2nd floor of this museum was all Bob the Builder. It has a play table with tractors, trucks and a mini town. There were wood workshops, grocery stores with computerized shopping carts that allowed students to scan items. And it was all child size! It was pretty cool, it had my attention so I think it is safe to say that it captured Andrew's too!

Even though there were several other exhibits, I couldn't break Andrew away from the play yard. He made many new friends and shared his tractors with others. Even though other children were coming and grabbing the vehicles in front of him, he would share what he had. Don't parents teach their kids to wait their turns anymore? It was so frustrating and annoying watching these parents stand in the corner, not even supervising their children. Fortuntately, it appears Andrew has inherited my sense of patience and wasn't bothered. We could have had several meltdowns on our hands if was like Kyle.

Andrew also enjoyed the rocket launch simulator and NASA Space center. This all is contructed inside the cube at the Discovery Science Center. He was captivated, especially during the launch sequence where there is a full blown countdown, steam, and lots of blinking lights to simulate being underneath a rocket taking off. He couldn't stop saying "ohhhh" and had very alert eyes. He loved it!

He loves his Auntie Jocelyn! Look at my little guy posing!

Sorry for the goofball expression on my face but the look on Andrew's face was priceless. This was the moment when we entered the cube and he saw all the rocket launchers.
