Andrew takes Mosaic to meet Shamu

Every year, we try to offer our families a variety of field trips. This year, we decided to give a theme park a try and headed down to San Diego to Sea World. We had a decent turn out but I thoroughly enjoyed being with the students that did show and built memories that I will truly never forget.
Waiting to check in

SHAMU!!!

Mommy said "get off of the rocks!" Do you think he listened to me with that face?

My students photo bombed Andrew's nap photo. They are a crack up! These are also the same students that suckered me into riding the Manta roller coaster with them. I seriously almost peed my pants laughing and screaming so hard!

If you haven't been to the underwater Shamu viewing, you HAVE to! Andrew probably spent over an hour here. It is quite amazing!

My team teacher and I have munchkins who are about the same age. We tried to snap a photo of all of them, while the whales swam by, while all 3 kids were looking, and hopefully smiling....guess it goes without saying that you know it didn't happen!

Andrew meets Shamu

Now that I am on Spring Break and can actually devote time to my family, Kyle and I decided to take Andrew on his very first trip to Sea World to meet Shamu. We also went with Andrew's best buddy Jakob and his mommy and daddy!

The boys had an absolute blast and I have to say, I thought Sea World was awesome. I have not been in probably 10 years and perhaps it was so much more enjoyable because of Andrew and the look of amazement on his sweet little face.  Everything was great: the rides for the kids, the entertainment for the adults, and of course, the company we were with!

Praise the Lord he stopped for a moment to take a nap. And wouldn't you know it, he fell asleep at lunch time and I ACTUALLY got to eat! It was a miracle!

The dolphins swam right up to Andrew and Jakob. We were off to the side thinking that the boys would be safe from crowds trying to touch the dolphins. Wouldn't you know it, the dolphins decided to hang out with Andrew and Jakob. I had never touched a dolphin before so it was a VERY cool experience!

SHAMU SHOW!!! Andrew had just woken up! Don't worry, he perked up as soon as Shamu jumped right in front of him!

Later, we fed the Sea Lions. Leave it to me to probably be the only person who ever got a fish stuck alongside the glass pane rather than give it to the Sea Lion. Figures!

After Sea World, we headed to Fashion Valley to eat dinner at True Food Kitchen. The boys were ecstatic to find a fire truck shopping cart!

After we arrived home, the "boys" were done!

I would say Andrew's first trip to Sea World was certainly a success! We can't wait to go back!
