Andrew's 1st Birthday Stache Bash

Ok, I admit it: this mommy is still in denial that her baby boy is a year old already! So what better way to cope with this fact than to have a party to celebrate my little man's first birthday! And of course, this couldn't be a traditional blue puppies and baby Mickey Mouse decor party! We held a Mustache Bash...and it was quite "Stache-tacular!"

If you know me, you know I don't do things half way! I tend to further fill my plate than I probably should (which, you would also know that I NEVER spread myself too thin!). So hey, let's have a 1st birthday party during the first week of school! No biggie!

To further add to this extravaganza, I decided to do Andrew's birthday party all DIY! I had so much fun making all the decorations and sweet treats for his party! 75 cupcakes later, more mustaches than I ever care to see again, and snacks for an army, we were set to go. The only thing I left to the pros was his cake (which kudos again to the amazingly talented Amy Schuler, whom once again outdid herself!) and the taco cart. I love to cook but I know when to call in for back up. We were supposed to be feeding firemen so I didn't want to run out of food or have to constantly be cooking so the taco cart came in quite handy. And it was delicious nonetheless!

There were a few hundred photos so I will let the photos do the talking for the party! You will notice that the birthday boy is M.I.A. throughout the first half the party. He was busy getting some extra beauty rest for his big day! I was so thankful because my fear was that he was either going to sleep through his party or not take a nap at all and be a total crab. Thankfully, he awoke to quite the scene. He was overwhelmed at first by all the people and the sea of creepy mustaches but eventually, especially cake time, he was in true character!

Consider yourself warned, there are a ton of pictures...but not the 300+  I had to begin with...

When you first walked in, you had to get "stache'd!"
The picture that inspired the theme of Andrew's party!

A Dessert Bar complete with Milk Mustaches (sugar cookies) and all the chocolate and mustache candies you could handle.

Always taking one for the team and trying out the food before the guests arrive. Thanks Uncle JJ!
Thank you Amy for doing such a great job on the Lil Man's cake!
75 "Real Man" cupcakes later...
A timeline of my little man's first year! Not going to lie, had to fight back the tears while putting this together!
Party favors: Chocolate chip cookies and milk mustaches!
Guilty Gma!
Even the photos got "stache'd!"

Other guilty Gma!
My niece, Penny, who is also getting so big, way too fast.
He's awake...finally!
The Taco Cart was a huge success!

The smash cake...it didn't stand a chance!

Such a sweet boy, sharing already!
Even little man Brady made his debut!

This pirate ship from cousin Penny was quite the hit!

Happy 1st birthday Andrew!! You have been a blessing to us and we are so incredibly thankful for you and the joy you bring us on a daily basis! We are eager to continue to watch you grow and look forward to many more birthdays.

But alas, consider the 1st Birthday Bash checked off the list! Next time, low key will be the name of the game...but don't quote me on that!
