Little man!

So I know I have been slacking on the blog lately...BIG TIME!! But life has been throwing me quite a few unexpected turns that have successfully managed to occupy my time and my life!
There have been lots of new and exciting developments that have been happening in our adventures with Andrew. These are some of the most recent happenings in our little man's life:

  • We visited the Pumpkin Patch (check out the Pumpkin patch post for pics!) where Andrew was beside himself.
  • We have a walking/running/full speed ahead little monkey man! As soon as Andrew turned a year, he discovered that walking was SO much faster than crawling! It was literally overnight! I was telling our friends that he didn't seem to have any interest in walking. He loved to stand and take steps, cruise the furniture, and bounce around but never actually walk. And then seriously, BOOM, he was a walker! And not just a walker: a down to business, get out of my way, I am on a mission, dog terrorizing running machine! It is his need for speed and awkward strides that prompted his Frankie Baby costume for Halloween! This was his first time trick or treating and man oh man did this little guy score some major loot! (See the Halloween post for all the Halloween pics but here is a sneak peek!)

  • We participated in an Annual Pumpkin Carving Party with the Adams family where Andrew once again professed his admiration for his lady love, Zoey Lynn. Young love is just so sweet! :) He also hung out with his buddy Cash! This mommy enjoyed being with both Zoey and Cash's mommy's! Time has gone by way too quickly without seeing these lovely ladies!
  • Andrew is talking up a storm. He has a variety of new sounds and facial expressions. He loves to say "oh" and makes the o-shape with his mouth when something is interesting or if he is excited.
  • Andrew got his first cold thanks to this Mommy of the Year that got her baby boy sick! It was awful! But he took it better than I did, even with a nose running like a faucet! He didn't skip a beat and was back in action quickly!
  • Andrew got his first hair cut thanks to my dear friend Marcell. And yes, I am THAT mom that saved each little curl in a keepsake that shall be stowed away for safe keeping until...well, shoot, when and what will I do with his precious, sweet little curls?

His sweet little eyes...he did not feel good!

  • Andrew loves to eat...EVERYTHING! He loves to reach his hand out when we are eating to remind us that he can eat, wants to eat, and will make a grunting noise to let you know that he is patiently waiting for you to share
  • Andrew loves bananas and Trader Joe's white cheddar puffs! He is happy as a clam with a face full of bananas and carrying around a bag of puffs. He also loves chicken and food with spice...definitely Kyle's kid!
  • Andrew loves to slam doors. He thinks the momentum obtained while shutting the doors is the coolest thing in the world and cracks himself up! It is quite hysterical...I am just on edge hoping his fingers don't get caught in the mix!
  • Andrew has inherited my OCD in organizing and cleaning. He loves to put laundry into the machine and push the start button on the washing machine...if only daddy could take note of his son's interest...just sayin'!
  • Andrew has molars, both on the top already and the bottom two are pearling through! Unlike his first teeth, we had several sleepless nights of teething crying sessions. I guess it was too good to be true after our first round of teething. This combined with the cold I gave him, it was a rough couple of days to say the least!
  • We took Andrew camping where he discovered dirt. Yes, the boy has seen dirt before but this time, he was playing, throwing, eating, and relishing in the fact of well, just being a little boy! Just a reminder, the definition of a boy is: noise with dirt on it! Yup, I would say that sums it up and accurately describes Andrew to a T!

Yes, he is having a blast, and yes, I am aware that my son looks like a disaster! But he was beside himself with joy! He loved it!

Don't worry, I didn't let him eat the pebbles and dirt!

Although he tried...

and tried...

and tried!

  • Andrew loves to share. Whether it be food or his toys, he is such a sweet boy! Recently, his cousin Penny came by for a visit and while at first he couldn't figure out who the little lady was, he quickly warmed up to her and shared his toys! It was so sweet and I can't wait for the many more memories the two of them will share!
  • My little man gives the best bear hugs in the world. So great that he almost digs his fingers into your shoulders to let you know that he is hugging with every ounce of his being! It is truly the sweetest thing that makes parenthood spectacular!
Well, I think that's it for now! Andrew is changing daily and taking on quite a little personality of his own! We are so excited for the many more milestones and adventures Andrew is going to take us on! Until next time...
