Trick or Treat

Well the trick was definitely on me this year! We were invited to several Halloween parties, which is crazy because usually we have 1 or two to go to. This year, we had 7 parties we were invited to and it was so hard to choose. Despite our selections, I was sick! So sick!! And wouldn't you know it, I was unable to go to any of the parties, not 1! I was so bummed!

I was starting to feel better the weekend before Halloween and as if luck may have it, my mom was unable to watch Andrew so that I could attend one of the Halloween parties. It just wasn't meant to be! So, in the efforts to at least be apart of some of the festivities, we stopped by to see Uncle JJ and his friends while they were getting ready for their Halloween party, yes, yet ANOTHER Halloween party. Jameson and his business partner were going as Angry Birds. While we were there, JJ insisted that Andrew try on a mini Angry Bird costume (which ironically was a dog's costume but hey, the tag should have said: small dog/toddler). It was hysterical!

After a series of photos, the whole household insisted that Andrew be apart of the Angry Bird costume and stop by the party. So of course, not wanting to be a party pooper, we agreed. And as crazy as this sounds, yes, I had the cat ears in my car for school the next week so I wouldn't forget them. I am a spaz, I know! I couldn't go to Halloween party with out at least somewhat of a costume.

So alas, we went to the party as a last minute Angry Bird trio and cat! And wouldn't you know it, Andrew was the star of the show! We stayed long enough for Uncle JJ to show off his nephew, get a reading from a fortune teller, and have a dance with my favorite little Angry bird! It was a blast!

That following week was brutal! As hard as I tried to avoid getting my little guy sick, I was not so lucky! Andrew got sick, so sick, like snot running down his face all day and all night-sick! I was so sad! But even as awful as he felt, Andrew was still as sweet as could be...and extra snuggly, which of course, I had to savor!

Wednesday came around and Kyle and I were so excited to watch Andrew trick or treat...really for the first time since he would actually be able to walk to our neighbor's houses and hold his own bucket. He was ADORABLE as a Frankie Baby and loved trick or treating. He was still not feeling 100% but loved his costume, all but the hat! He hates anything on his head! But we have learned that if we distract him, he will wear it. But it is only a matter of time before he rips it off his head (as you can see in the pictures below!)

I barely made it home from work before dark so we could trick or treat! I was so excited that I didn't even change out of my work clothes!

After visiting a few neighbors, we couldn't believe how much loot he got. No wonder parents go trick or treating with their kids. They are candy magnets! His bucket was full! All in all, we had a great time trick or treating with our little family and our little Frankie Baby continues to melt our hearts!
Hope your Halloween was "spooktacular" friends! Hopefully there will be less tricks played on me next year!

Pumpkin Patch Fun 2012

Kyle and I were so excited to take Andrew to the pumpkin patch because we couldn't wait to see Andrew's face at the sight of all the pumpkins and fun within the pumpkin patch. Not to mention, now that Andrew was walking, we were excited to let him roam around and to personally pick his own pumpkin.

To our surprise, Andrew's first take on the Pumpkin patch was that of horror. He was terrified! I put him down to walk around and he clinged to my leg. We think that he thought the pumpkins were balloons. He hates balloons! Absolutely hates them! Eventually, he warmed up to the pumpkin patch after watching all the other children run around. And then, he was ecstatic! He couldn't get enough of the hay, belly laughed at his first encounter with the pigs and the pig races, and stood tall at the height chart! It's crazy to think that just a year ago, he was only about 6 weeks old when we brought him here and barely measured 2 feet tall. Now, he stood alone and was roaming independently! What was also fun to observe was all the first time parents making raspberry noises to get their little ones to smile on their first visit to the pumpkin patch. That was Kyle and I just last year! My, my, my, the time really has flown!

Such a big boy!

Daddy giving driving tips!

Just the right size!

Not really sure what was happening here but obviously, he was excited about something!

He kept great watch over his pumpkins!

He guarded them from his big brother...

Pumpkin Patch 2011
Crazy how 1 year goes by in the blink of an eye! He was so teeny tiny then! We can't wait til next year to continue our Peltzer Pumpkin Farm tradition...well we can wait, we don't want this year to go as quickly as the last!

You know you love mommyhood when...

...you are getting your sweet little munchkin ready for bed and he climbs up to where you are and lays his head in your lap. Then, if the moment couldn't get any sweeter, he props up next to me and sits, mimicking my hand and body position, and then climbs on me to rest his head on my shoulder and babble in my ear! It was at this moment that nothing in the world mattered! He melts me!!

In case you hadn't figured it out, I absolutely love being a mommy!

Happy Sunday friends! Andrew and I hope you have a great week and enjoy the Fall air and temps....finally!
